Hawaiian Meatball Sauce Ingredients 1 can (13 1/2 oz.) pineapple chunks, drained and juice reserved 2 Tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 cup vinegar 1/2 brown sugar 2 Tbsp. soy sauce 2 Tbsp. lemon juice 1 cup coarsely chopped green peppers 1 pimento, cut into 1/2 inch pieces 1 can whole water chestnuts Directions
make 1 cup liquid. Blend juice and cornstarch until smooth. Stir in vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce and lemon juice and cook until thickened and clear. Add pineapple, green pepper, pimento and water chestnuts. Mix well. Simmer, covered, over low heat 15 minutes. Pour over meatballs; cover. Simmer 15 minutes. Serve in chafing dish with toothpicks. |
