Oatmeal-Chocolate Cake
1 cup oatmeal 1 1/2 cup boiling water 1/2 cup shortening 1 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 cup sifted flour 1/2 cup cocoa 1 tsp. soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla Directions Mix oatmeal with boiling water. Let stand until cool. Cream shortening with sugar and eggs. Add oatmeal mixture with flour, cocoa, soda, salt and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Pour into 8 X 12-inch pan. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. |
