Cherry Chocolate Bars

    Ingredients

    1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
    20 oz. can cherry pie filling
    1 tsp. almond extract
    2 eggs
    Frosting:
    1 cup sugar
    5 Tbsp. butter
    1/3 cup milk
    6 oz. chocolate chips

    Directions

    In a large bowl, combine all ingredients.  Beat
    well.  Pour into greased 10 x 15-inch pan (9 x 13
    for thicker bars).  
    Bake at 350 for 20 - 25 minutes.
    Cool and frost.
    To make frosting combine sugar, butter and milk
    in a small saucepan.  Boil, stirring constantly, one
    minute.  Remove from heat; stir in chocolate chips
    until smooth.
    Pour over bars.
    Makes about 36 bars.
